The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones formed in London in 1962 and have been recording ever since, from “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “Gimme Shelter” to “Start Me Up”. Since Charlie Watts died in 2021 the band has been Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, with Steve Jordan on drums and Darryl Jones on bass as hired players. Hackney Diamonds (2023), their first album of new songs since 2005, won the Grammy for Best Rock Album; Foreign Tongues followed in July 2026 and became their 15th UK No. 1 album.

The Rolling Stones Foreign Tongues

Sold as a month of sessions in London, the Stones' 25th album is really two periods in one, with Charlie Watts's last session and an hour of Andrew Watt's polish.
