Robert Smith
Robert Smith was born in Blackpool in 1959 and started the band that became the Cure with school friends in 1976; he has been its singer, guitarist, main songwriter and only constant member ever since. He also played guitar in Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1982 to 1984. Songs of a Lost World (2024), the Cure’s first album of new songs in 16 years, won the band its first Grammys in 2026.
