Privacy
Earbuddy does not ask you to create an account. This is what we collect and why.
Analytics
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which do not use cookies and do not identify you. With your consent we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how the site is used. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies until you accept. You can change your choice by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Submissions
When you send music through the submission form, we receive the details you enter by email so we can review your submission and write back. We use them only for that, and the form is delivered through Resend, our email provider.
Embedded players
Some pages include players from Spotify, Bandcamp or YouTube. They only load when you press play, and those services may then set their own cookies; their privacy policies apply.
Tools
The gift finder, the festival guides and Your life in music run in your browser. Your answers and the listening history files you drop in are not sent anywhere, and the acts you mark in a festival guide are saved only in this browser, which you can clear at any time.
Votes
When you vote in the Album World Cup, we count the vote and keep a scrambled version of your IP address (a keyed hash that changes every day) for 24 hours, so each person gets one vote per cross per day. Your first vote of the day goes through Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out, and a cookie remembers that check until the end of the day.
Store links
Some store links in the gift finder may be affiliate links: if you buy something, the store may pay Earbuddy a commission and may set its own cookies to record it. Those links are marked where they appear.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server logs such as IP addresses to deliver pages securely.
