Army Navy made their third album over three years with Adam Lasus, releasing two of its songs early. Bright guitars, bruised lyrics and more slow songs than before.

Chris Stewart made Black Marble's second album alone, over a year in a Brooklyn apartment he would not leave until it was done. Less reverb, the same narrow room.

Charly Bliss scrapped a first version of their debut for not being fun. The one they kept is 29 minutes of power pop where Eva Hendricks's jokes carry the hooks.

Christopher Owens took the gospel and country he grew up with in the Children of God and made an atheist's record of them, with most of the old Girls band.
