The Neptunes

Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo formed the production duo the Neptunes in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1992. Billboard ranked them first among the producers of the 2000s, and they were named to the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s class of 2020. In 2024 Hugo took legal action against Williams over the trademarks for the duo’s name.
