of Montreal

of Montreal is an indie pop band from Athens, Georgia, founded by Kevin Barnes in 1996 and part of the Elephant 6 collective. Barnes has been its only constant member, from the debut Cherry Peel (1997) onwards. Its most recent album, Aethermead, came out on Polyvinyl in June 2026, recorded in Brooklyn with the engineer Drew Vandenberg.
