In January 2026 singer Rubén Albarrán said Café Tacvba had sent letters asking Universal Music México and Warner Music México, which control the band's catalog, to take it off Spotify, citing Ek's arms investment, ICE ads, low royalties and AI. The music was still on Spotify while the labels weighed the request, and no later report confirmed a removal.
