Sigur Rós

Sigur Rós is an Icelandic post-rock band formed in Reykjavík in 1994 by Jónsi and Georg Hólm. Its second album, Ágætis byrjun (1999), brought it international attention, with Jónsi’s falsetto and bowed guitar at the centre of the sound. Keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson left in 2013 and rejoined in 2022, and the band released its eighth studio album, Átta, in 2023.

Sigur Rós's second single from Kveikur, out with their first lyric video: on their most aggressive album, the song critics heard as pop began as a bowed ukulele.
