Michael Gira

Michael Gira is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist, born in Los Angeles in 1954. He founded Swans in New York in 1982 and runs the label Young God Records; between the two eras of Swans he led Angels of Light, and he has led Swans again since 2010. In February 2016 the singer Larkin Grimm, whose album he had produced and released, accused him of raping her in 2008; Gira denied it, describing a consensual encounter that went no further.
