Whether you’re a PC or Mac person, I believe it’s a safe assumption that if you’re in your mid-20s to any age after, you likely grew up using a Windows based operating system. And while they’re not as popular as they used to be (mainly due to their instability with viruses and such), Microsoft is pulling out all the stops in promoting its latest Windows carnation — Windows 8. They’re also trying to sell the OS as a hip system; so hip that they needed to inject a little bit of indie into their advertising campaign. Their choice in indie-inspiring promotion is K (Kaoru) Ishibashi, aka Kishi Bashi, and his song, “Bright Whites” from his recent debut full-length 151a. Watch the original commercial that you’ve likely seen 1000 times and hear the full song below.
Here’s original advertisement featuring Kishi Bashi’s delightfully catchy song.
And now that you’re sold on Kishi Bashi (and possibly Windows 8), watch the official video for “Bright Whites” from the album, 151a.
