World’s Finest is a band capable of consistently surprising you. Although their core sound stems from Americana, the five-piece can just as easily slip into a very unexpected genre. Like what? Try funk, dance, punk and ska. Needless to say, World’s Finest is a band that can do it all. The band’s new album, Chromatophores, is an expansive 9 song dive into the World’s Finest sound. It is their most complete album to date, and a true representation of what you get from a World’s Finest live show.
Poignant songs of love and life on the road are seamlessly placed into sprawling musical landscapes as vast and beautiful as the roads and towns the band has relentlessly traversed over the past 4 years. Recorded and mixed at Hallowed Halls in Portland, OR by Justin Phelps (Leftover Salmon, Fruition, Shook Twins), this is the album that World’s Finest fans have been waiting for.
Today, Earbuddy premieres the album track “Postcards”, which showcases the band’s spry Americana style that will get those toes tapping in no time. Listen to “Postcards” below.
The band will play a record release show at Wonder Ballroom in Portland, Orego on November 25th (details: HERE).
World’s Finest is Chris Couch (Guitar/Vocals), Dan Hurley (Banjo/Vocals), Sean McLean (Sax/Guitar/Vocals), Evan Malfer (Bass), and Mike Apodaca (Drums).
