DIY rockers After Hours Radio’s start began with some issues. They lost their vocalist and drummer, which forced the remaining members (core songwriters Nate Erickson and Greg Hughes) to improvise. This meant Erickson taking over vocal duties as the band added new members to the mix. But even as the band fleshed out it, its members struggled with the band’s increased time commitment and relocation to Ann Arbor. It was these struggles which influenced much of their EP What Happened?. Today, we share a full stream of the new EP, which arrives on September 29th. It’s a solid effort from the young band that leaves us anxiously anticipating their debut full-length.
After Hours Radio’s Nate Erickson on the new EP:
What Happened? is a documentation of our journey as a band. We moved away from friends, quit day jobs, had to learn how to handle the messy and time-consuming ordeal that this project is when it’s taken seriously. It was a growing process for us, but I think you can still hear our roots in it as well. Hopefully you enjoy the results as much as we do!
