PREMIERE: Broken Bellows – “Misery”

Cory Brent and Will Prinzi were once part of pop punk band Reckless Serenade, who played on the Vans Warped Tour last year. Unfortunately, the band broke up before they could follow up on the opportunity. No matter. Now Brent and Prinzi make up the pop duo Broken Bellows. The band will release The Card Table EP on August 25th through Fervor Records. And in case you need Broken Bellows to work you into a fervor over the upcoming EP, check out our premiere of their song, “Misery”. It will leave you burning for more of Broken Bellows.

Broken Bellows’ Cory Brent on the song:

“Misery” is a song that we’re super proud of. It’s one of those tracks that sort of just came out of nowhere for us. It was partially written during one of our overnight drives while we were on Warped Tour last summer. I would drive while Will had Logic open in the front seat and we would keep each other awake by bouncing ideas off of each other. It was there where we first got the melody for “Misery”‘s chorus.

Lyrically, I feel like “Misery” is about losing your way- spending some sleepless nights questioning your hopes and dreams. Sometimes it’s hard to keep the self doubts at bay, I think it’s something a lot of people deal with on a daily basis, and I think it’s something that people can relate to.
