The Shins Sign To Columbia; Releasing New Album

The Shins are apparently back together. And releasing a new album, no less! The James Mercer led group has signed to Columbia Records, moving the group to the majors (The Shins’ previous releases were through Sub Pop). The new album will be released on frontman James Mercer’s own Aural Apothecary label. Tour dates have also been announced for The Shins, where James Mercer will be joined by singer/songwriter Richard Swift, Modest Mouse drummer Joe Plummer, Yuuki Matthews of Crystal Skulls, and singer/songwriter Jessica Dobson.
