Icarus Himself, the trio of former National Beekeepers Society frontman Nick Whetro, Whetro’s Beekeeper bandmate multi-instumentalist Karl Christenson and drummer Brad Kolberg, have released a new single, “Anywhere You Go”, from their recently released album, Career Culture, the third in a series of autobiographical recordings the band has released through Science Of Sound. Download the single, “Anywhere You Go”, by Icarus Himself below.
“Most of the songs are based on my life experience. Working in a factory in a small, depressing town had a great deal of influence on these songs, as did getting married and settling down new roots in Wisconsin,” explains Whetro. Career Culture was recorded at Science of Sound’s studio, engineered by Ricky Riemer and mixed with the band with the help of Riemer. Guest players include Michael Gallope (Janka Nabay & the Bubu Gang, Starring, Skeletons) on keys, Jonathan Lang on keys and clarinet, as well as cellist Jacqueline Kursel, and saxophonist Rob Ferrett.
