Download: Doe Paoro - "Born Whole"
If you haven't heard Brooklyn-based artist Doe Paoro yet, the thing that will catch you off guard immediately is her voice. And I'm going to guess many listeners will be separated as to whether or not they enjoy it. Turns out that Paoro's singing style is based on her study of Lhamo—a vocally acrobatic Tibetan-style opera—that she discovered while traveling alone through the Himalayas. That sounds like a superhero origin story. Her new album Slow To Love will be out February 14th, but you can get your first listen of Doe Paoro's voice via the download link for the single "Born Whole" below.
